A Bit of Background: Corruption and Conflicts of Interest in the White House

For an issue that prompted daily headlines during the campaign, President Trump’s (then potential and now many) conflicts of interest did not cause enough concern among voters to even compel him to release his tax returns before (or after) Election Day.  A blind faith prevailed among his supporters and surrogates as they assured us that it was a non-issue certain to be resolved by January 20th.

That day has come and gone, and the President’s potential corruption and violations of the Constitution (specifically, the “Emoluments Clause”) are impossible to ignore. In this space we will cover the ever-growing list (currently at 30 clear-cut examples) of conflicts of interest and how they are intertwined in the majority of this administrations’ policy decisions.
